Except the dean, the general behaviour of Nest if WAY TOO MUCH portrayed as bad guys.Don't really go with how they were portrayed until now

      I mean the old guys don't seem to be evil, looking at the earlier chapters I can see how the school is sketchy but I forgot about it since they have been fighting pet shop for so long

Probably they die from direct contact with sunlight, their leaves basically get overwhelmed by direct sunlight, this happens to many plants actually.

Plants that evolved for low light conditions are sensitive to the sun when suddenly exposed. Also, cconsidering the environment they grow in, the sun is also probably too warm. Since the temperatures they thrive in, are just barely above freezing...

In reality, question why it has fruit, such a plant seems more likely to reproduce via root budding...not via fruits, which are grown specifically to attract certain species of animals to eat, and carry the seeds away from the parent. Small fruits are normally oriented towards birds too... And being buried under the snow would be illogical.
