Fun read. Would very much prefer a sequel to this but nevertheless, this was spicy and wholesome AF!

Accuracy has increased, and A team was way before my time, but yeah I always hated seeing those tools firing downrange at 100 meter plus, not even utilizing burst fire with soviet era weapons. The scary thing is when you have enough of them that it becomes less about accuracy and if fire is heavy enough it becomes less about getting hit than not getting hit. Lots of Russian and China backed regimes in Africa have access to such vast weapon stockpiles and particularly nasty ways of making use of them (child soldiers pumped up on brainwashing and drug cocktails the include amphetamines and pcp, that eventually range stops mattering. Put a heavy gun on the outskirts and then let the entirely “expendable”, at least according to their tactics, coerced civilians to close the distance and even with the absence of any real training the zombie like false sense of immortality takes care of the rest.)

I don’t know about you, but some of the old james bind movies struck me as even more ridiculous. You’re going to make a shot with a Walter (a gun designed for women without significant training due to the low caliber and blowback) between your legs aaed at a target between your legs. If seeing a roger Moore who seemed more suited to reading his grand kids stories in a rocking chair being the one who pulled it off wasn’t enough to threaten my willing suspension of disbelief.

I think media in general owes a lot to that bourne series of movies released in the early 2000’s. The standard of what audiences at large across the board internationally was willing to accept seems to have shot up exponentially. Well enjoying such films initially made me feel conflicted because I’d always imagined I would be happier in a world without such weapons, but there’s no closing pandora’s box, and who knows what we’d be looking at globally if that was the case. Better to laugh as the waves crash on you. What was the route “laugh and the world laugh with you and weep and you weep alone”?
