Remember when Guts was in awe when seeing mountain of corpses before his fight against Zodd? "What kind of monster did all this?" was perhaps what he thought back then. And now he's doing exactly the same thing as Zodd, and he's just a human being.

Guts's strength is on par with those monsters.
