To address Deathray.

In the Superhuman Battlefield, people are armed with various weapons. Among the various weapons, ranging from knives all the way to axes -> Deathray is a gun. Guns are just superior to all weapons.

Make no mistake, any random hit from a gun is devastating. A random hit from a gun is akin to a critical hit by any other weapon. Its damage is absurdly high and it can very much kill things easily.

It's not balanced at all -> and to avoid having every encounter be "then they got hit by a death ray and died" - which would be amusing maybe twice -> it keeps failing. It's not Shuran and her Death Ray's fault that it is looking useless. It very much isn't useless. It's just the author really wants more from the combat. That's what's happening here. It did enough damage to effectively "end phase 1."

For what it is worth, when she blasted people with it, it really was a moment of "they got hit by a death ray and died" moment -> but we were very much distracted by the MVPs to give the Death Ray the proper attention it deserves.
