                                                                                                BloodChant yes that's why there's different ways to displace strength with weapons and martial arts, and yes head on the weaker opponents will lose that doesn't just apply to male vs Females, that applies to different weight classes between males. A 100 lbs will NEVER overpower somebody that weights 250 lbs, BUT the 100 lbs would be FASTER than the 250 lbs. Somebody who weight lifts can be HIGHLY unbalanced due to the fact that what they pursue is muscle mass not speed, vs somebody say trained in a martial style that focuses on speed. The Martial Artist with bare fist (depending on the style) will not be able to overpower weight lifter there's just not enough strength (depending on the martial style), but with a weapon that's a different story.

                                                                                                So yes Skill and Technique matters but Strength can also matter too (Depending on the type of Spar a Kendo spar is full contact with "weakpoints" such as the neck, wrist, torso, and head. In Kenjitsu there usually isn't a full contact spar because the difference is that in Kenjitsu you need to know how to stop your swing too). As a kendoist who weights 160 lbs I was able to win against people who were 250+ lbs, and it definitely wasn't because I was stronger, it was because I was Faster and was more advanced in my training by a single year.
