Oof binged from. Chapter one to now. I gotta say. At first this dude shook me to my core years ago to the point where I couldn't read past chapter three.
Now he shook me again as I read it and after reading all the way through till now I can say without a doubt that I prefer the clichéd Nice guy punkass heroes. This was a breathe of fresh air to be sure and totally flipped my perceptions of the story early on. However I still can't seem to root for him.
I want him to succeed and turn the world on its head and break the system created by higher beings who push their ideals on others to the point of it being madness. Yet, I still somehow want him to find a middle ground In his mindset. Not his no-nonsense straightforward rationality of gains and losses. He's very efficient by not catering to frivolous notions like a moral compass and focusing only on facts and results and part if that is his charm as mc.
He's the embodiment of the angst readers feel when they read about clichéd Shonen protagonists and all the ridiculous power of friendship and love tropes. Results are all that matters to a reasonable realist like this guy and in real life too. Not catering to emotions that impede growth and being self serving is entirely reasonable.
Even with all that, watching him inevitably fail time and time again in the end is more than expected and kind of telling. Now we know that he is also an irrational person who refuses to bend his will to the demands for others despite that achieving the results needed to pass, he is rational in everything else he decides to do.... well "rational" I subjective... and he is a special case.... he's so contrary it comes off as abrasive but that is always entertaining.
So now we'll watch this guy destroy an entire celestial organization from the inside out as he breaks the system they've worked hard to create their little earth humanity boot-camp for creating what they deem as responsible and diligent members of society.
It's their own damn fault for sending them to a world where potential monkey wrenches like what our mc has obtained is even possible. Like who puts a self-destruct button inside their lair??? Only an idiot! That's who! The administrators in charge are complete Baboons!
I do wish our Yong Soo was a little bit more ... forgiving... his third run was too rushed and he fucked it up by getting unnecessarily riled up by "sieg" or whatever glasses name was. The kid just basically existed and of course Yong Soo created a scenario to completely destroy the kid out of spite. Yeah, emotional people aren't rational but no one can doubt that Yong Soo was way too petty that run😅 slap him down and call it a day dude. No need to rile him up by ruining his playthrough by killing his comrades on standby.
Fourth run was a masterpiece though and like my college mates would always remind me, C's get degrees. This bonus stage seems like fun but I can't help but anxiously await what he will do to completely break their realm.
Also, how has he not created a working toilet system with magic yet? He has had time... all those skills and still nothing? This poor guy 😭
It can't be helped, they already told her if she doesn't change they will not protect her from the dire consequences. But what pisses me off is the fact he also took it out on his daughter.
