Well it's really a sad manhwa tbh.... Somehow i can relate to Daniel on that relative part bcz i too hate when my mom prioritises relatives treat them so well and they don't fukin deserve it at all....
Characters don't need strong plot points to be in a story though. A lot of characters fill small roles but seem bigger than those roles are because they have a name unlike say a group of bandits.
The s rank adventure group of three are actually a group of two with Drake and Shelly being the only ones that matter for the sake of the story.
Ironman isn't a character that needs an explanation since he follows the same purpose of drake and the other ace monsters.
The elves are citizens and don't need strong plot points. They're a mass of individuals, we don't even know their names, and that's fine. Does every character in a story absolutely need to be engaging and catch the readers attention?
The answer is no. They're there to serve a single purpose in the story and not much else past humanizing the monsters and fortifying the mc's resolve as a leader governing people.
Honestly there should be a couple more elves with names that we know interacting with the mc more to make them more grounded as people to protect.
The figure heads are fine and I'm sure we'll learn a little more about each of them as the story continues but you have a strong point about forcing the story to go a certain direction through illogical actions by characters.
Postponing the war is a little silly. It feels like they're trying to artificially lengthen this arc 😅
I can't wait to see if Isagi is gonna get some reflex x reflex with Rin and I'm really interested to see Shidou and Sae start becoming a team and if it makes Rin jealous. excited for the next chapter. also you guys realize not every chapter there is going to be action.
