Akikaze Cosmos is a regular elementary student who also helps take care of the hostel that her mom operates in the town of Hanami. She is incredibly responsible for her age and seems much more mature than the other older residents of the hostel, like the high-school girl Soyokaze, the college drunk Sonoko, and the pervert Raita. Everything about this hostel and the town of Hanami seems normal except that everything outside of the town is a nuclear desert where no one is allowed to enter. But when Cosmos unwillingly wanders into the lifeless desert, she is somehow transformed into a magical angel.

Kuuki no Soko is a collection of short stories drawn by the genius mangaka, Tezuka Osamu, between 1968 and 1970, and is known in Japan as a true masterpiece.

Belonging to Tezuka's most mature period, it touches many genres: from pure science fiction to historical fiction to contemporary drama. We find stories of industrial espionage, animal testing, and racial animosity, as well as stories about the more complex dynamics of the human mind.

And the human mind is the leitmotif of the entire volume, namely the duality present in every one of us - mercy, love, and understanding, existing together with cruelty and violence until something upsets the balance and we discover a side hidden even from ourselves... a side we are not always prepared to confront...

Tales of a Charcoal Burner narrates the day to day life of young Toshikatsu Ue, who, following family tradition, devotes himself to the hard labor of the titular profession in Wakayama Prefecture. In the recesses of mountain... there's a bus stop at outskirts of a village, it's called "Hinamizawa bus stop". Rika, a female high-school student, together with her junior, Mion visit this place. Twisted relationships that are concerned with the dam construction in Hinamizawa, and the stories of the curse of "Oyashiro-sama" that takes root in this area. In an RPG-esque world where people's positions in society are decided at birth, Tolza is a "subjugator" who's on a quest to defeat the demon king. However, as a subjugator Tolza possesses a special ability which he keeps secret at all cost: he gets stronger every time one of his companions dies.
