Two government workers perform a very unusual job, for the same pay as every other paper-pusher! Kaoru Jinnai and Yamazaki Yuusuke pick up corpses to be cremated before organ harvesters can reach them in post-apocalyptic Japan. Stork, the man with no memories, and Tit, the boy with no home, travel across the grim world where the sky is grey and the birds are believed extinct. Note: Though this is considered an alternate story to Wild Adapter, with which it shares both protagonists' names and basic personality traits, there are little to no similarities in plot and Araiso has a far more upbeat tone.

While recovering from surgery, Minekura Kazuya is asked by the Zero-Sum editor-in-chief Koyagi to create a series of illustrations for the manga magazine Zero-Sum Ward. To create a theme, Koyagi rolls four dice: two hold character names, one holds a situation, and the last holds an action. With each roll, characters are placed in strange situations, much to Minekura's chagrin.

500 years before the story of Saiyuki, a heretic child with golden eyes is brought into Heaven. He is given into the reluctant care of a minor deity named Konzen, the nephew of the Merciful Goddess Kanzeon Bosatsu. Konzen eventually gives the child the name "Goku". Goku becomes friends with two other minor gods, Marshal Tenpou and General Kenren of the Western Army of Heaven. He also meets a strange little boy who seems to be his own age, the War Prince Nataku. Although Goku is happy in his new home, Heaven is not kind to heretics. There are those who would use Nataku and Goku as tools in an attempt to seize the throne of Heaven, and Konzen, Tenpou, and Kenren may not be able to save them.

Kondo Masahito is a tough high school senior, while his older brother Yoshio is a calm and gentle kindergarten teacher, so it is not rare that younger brother protects the older one. Different personalities make it difficult for Masahito to understand his brother, but he still tries.
